Subspecies, varieties, forms and cultivars of plants belonging to the Echinomastus intertextus group

  • Echinomastus intertextus (Engelm.) Britton & Rose: has smooth addpressed radial spines bluish grey to pinkish, with with reddish tips. Distribution: southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, west Texas, and adjacent Mexico
  • Echinomastus intertextus subs. dasyacanthus (Engelm.) U.Guzmán: has larger stems with relatively long, protruding spine which contrasts with the smooth aspect of typical E. intertextus. Distribution: Southwestern Texas, central and south-western New Mexico and in extreme northern Chihuahua (Mexico).
  • Echinomastus intertextus f. minimus hort.: it is a small form less than 5 cm tall. Distribution: Chihuahua, Mexicó.
