Description: Mesembryanthemum tetrasepalumSN|28881]]SN|28881]] is a prostrate to ascending succulent plant, suffruticose and much branched. This plant is known only in cultivation and shows a similarity with Aptenia cordifoliaSN|28876]]SN|28876]]. M. tetrasepalum is probably one of the many hybrid forms of the latter species.

Leaves: Decussate, petiolate, flat, spatulately lanceolate and acute, bladder cells small.
Flowers: Calix usually 4-, rarely 5-lobed, petals pink.
