Subspecies, varieties, forms and cultivars of plants belonging to the Ophionella arcuata group

  • Ophionella arcuata (N.E.Br.) Bruyns: (ssp. arcuata) Corolla long. Tube 4 x 3 mm, lobes 5-8 x 2-2.5 mm, lanceolate, tips joined (occasionally divergent) more than twice as long as broad at base. Dorsal process pointing upwards. Distribution: RSA (Eastern Cape: between Somerset East and Bedford).
  • Ophionella arcuata subs. mirkinii (Pillans) Bruyns: Corolla large, cup shaped, open, tube 4 x 5-7 mm, lobes 4 x 3-3.5 mm, triangular tips free, less than twice as long as broad at base. Dorsal process rather horizontal. Distribution: RSA (Eastern Cape: between Willowmore and Addo).
